The 1st Edenvale Girl Scouts section provides a dynamic, supportive environment where young women are empowered to grow into confident, capable leaders. While following the same nationally recognised Scout programme framework, the Girl Scouts section creates space for girls to develop independence, resilience, and leadership in a setting that encourages strong peer support and positive role modelling.
The programme is adventure-based and skills-focused, offering a balanced combination of outdoor challenges, personal development, and community involvement. Activities are structured around key programme areas to ensure well-rounded growth and consistent progression.
Girl Scouts participate in:
- Hiking expeditions and campcraft
- Outdoor survival and pioneering skills
- First aid and emergency response training
- Water-based and adventurous activities
- Community service and outreach projects
- Leadership development through the Patrol System
Progress is recognised through a structured badge and advancement system, culminating in the opportunity to work towards the prestigious Springbok Scout Award. This achievement reflects dedication, competence, service, and sustained leadership.
The Girl Scouts section fosters a culture of mutual respect, collaboration, and accountability. Members are encouraged to take initiative, lead projects, mentor younger Scouts, and actively contribute to both their Troop and the wider community.
