The South African Scout Association is a movement open to all regardless of gender, race, disability or religion. The Association is committed to the youth it serves, timeless values, the Scout method and its results. Having played an enormous role in youth development in South Africa and the world for more than 100 years, the Association remains committed to providing a relevant programme that will unquestioningly benefit the individual, the family, the community and South Africa.
Scouts South Africa is the biggest youth organization in the country with over 308 000 children, youths and adults nationwide. We are open for all children (7-10), teens (11-17), youths (18-30) and adults who want to embrace their adventurous spirit, enjoy challenging activities and make a positive impact on their communities.
Scouting teaches your children life skills like friendship, teamwork, planning, self-motivation, commitment, perseverance, environmental, cultural awareness and strong values.
1st Edenvale Scout Group was founded in 1938 and is celebrating its 77th anniversary this year. We have many dedicated volunteers, parents, cubs, and scouts and a strong committee.
We meet each Friday except during the public school holidays.
The South African Scout Association is a member of the World Organization of the Scout Movement.
